The Gallery Garden Party

Last week The Gallery held a garden party for parents and carers to mark the end of the school year and the opening of their new sensory room.

The party began with a musical performance by the staff and students followed by lunch outside in the sunshine.

We were very pleased to welcome The Mayor and Mayoress of Wakefield who were invited to officially open the new sensory room, The Brook, which is named after Nicole, a past pupil of The Gallery who turned 19 and has since moved on.  Nicole had a huge impact on the school and is missed by staff and students alike.  Headteacher, Lynette Edwards presented the Major with a gift of a picture created by Nicole in an owl frame to represent the school logo.

Activities continued in the afternoon including face painting, tombola and ended with an awards ceremony to celebrate the hard work of the pupils throughout the year.
