On Tuesday the students at the Gallery began the busy preparation process for their forthcoming coffee morning. All of the pupils were hard at work, whether that be making posters for the event, buying drinks and ingredients or baking & decorating cakes. All of these activities tied in nicely with things that the children had previously learnt in their life skills lessons.
After all the groundwork, Thursday, the big day came around!
The pupils’ and staff eagerly began to set up the stall at 11am. By 12:50pm the stall was up and running! We received our first batch of customers from neighbouring schools; it was lovely to see the students engaging in polite conversation with people they did not know and improving their people skills. It was a joy to see staff and students getting on so well; many pupils played a game with the staff called ‘Guess the number of spots on the cake.” It was great fun. Students also asked for donations for the great cause.
We are proud to announce that the overall money raised for Macmillan Cancer support was £44, congratulations to all of our pupils who made this possible I’m sure that this money will go to good use.
