On Friday 23rd February Secondary students from ‘The Gallery’ had the opportunity to explore the history and culture of the Wakefield and the West Yorkshire area, with a visit to the Wakefield Rhubarb festival.
They had a fantastic afternoon tasting foods including artisan game sausages, cheeses, cakes and many other foods from the local area. Floyd came along for the trip and was fascinated to meet the giant Pigeons and other street performers entertaining the crowds. All of our students had a brilliant afternoon with most trying foods that were new to them and coming away with samples to try later at home.
All in all, a great way to embrace our local heritage and develop our social interaction with each other and a range of stallholders!
